EA executive directors and board expenses 2022 to 2023
Updated 19 March 2024
The Environment Agency provides flood risk management, environmental regulation and other environmental services across England. The majority of staff are based in local offices close to where they provide services. Our main National Office is in Bristol, with a further office in London.
The nature of the work of the Chair, Chief Executive and Executive Directors requires a significant degree of travel in England. This includes early starts and late finishes necessitating overnight stays. So that the Environment Agency can remain effectively networked with environmental regulators in other countries, some foreign travel is required. This report reflects expenses which were paid by the Environment Agency and does not include travel paid for by external partners.
To minimise carbon emissions, travel in the UK is mostly undertaken using public transport. Best value is used both for travel and for hotel accommodation through the Environment Agency and cross-government procurement contracts.
