The Environment Agency’s road map is:

  • cutting carbon emissions by 45% by 2030
  • organisational net zero by 2045 to 2050

It breaks down the sources of our emissions and the tangible actions we will take to reduce them. Doing so will:

  • benefit people and nature
  • tackle our own contribution to climate change
  • support the government’s ambition of a net zero nation by 2050
