This guidance is aimed at helping readers understand the European Community (EC) Directive 2008/1/EC on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (the IPPC Directive), insofar as it relates to installations in England and Wales. Separate Regulations apply the IPPC Directive in Scotland and Northern Ireland and to the offshore oil and gas industries.
