Details

This guidance is being published to help in particular those operating and regulating incineration and co-incineration plants, but it will also be of interest to others concerned with waste incineration. The guidance describes the views of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) on how the Waste Incineration Directive should be applied and how particular terms should be interpreted. However only the national or European Courts can give a definitive interpretation of the legislation.

This guidance is part of a series of documents which accompany the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 SI 2007 No. 3538.
