The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has a statutory duty, under Section 12 of the Equality Act 2006, to monitor progress on equality and human rights in Britain. The EHRC published its first report under this duty, entitled ‘How Fair is Britain?’ in October 2010. The 2023 Equality and Human Rights Monitor sets out developments since the Commission’s last report, titled ‘Is Britain Fairer?’, in 2018.
