How to create and submit your ESF supplementary data
See our guidance relating to the supplementary data collection for contracts starting before April 2019.
This data must be submitted alongside your individualised learner record (ILR) return.
It also provides a technical specification of the data collection requirements, for those who make data returns, implement data specifications and design information systems; including management information (MI) managers, software writers and suppliers.
You must also refer to the ESF funding rates and formula document, which outlines the principles behind the ESF funding system.
ESFA: round 2 supplementary data validation rules
This document sets out the validation rules for the round 2 supplementary data collection, for those who make data returns, implement data specifications and design information systems; including management information (MI) managers, software writers and suppliers.
ESFA: round 2 supplementary data collection example file
This document is an example file for the round 2 supplementary data collection, in CSV format. You must create a file for submission if required; this example file could be used as a template if you remove the sample data contained within it.
You must also refer to the round 2 supplementary data collection guidance and round 2 supplementary data validation rules, as found on this page.
