Action: Submit your school resource management self-assessment checklist

This is a final reminder that the school resource management self-assessment checklist is now open for academy trusts to complete and return by Friday 14 March 2025.

All academy trusts with an open academy on 31 December 2024 must submit a checklist.

Information: Updated 16 to 19 and adult education and skills funding document collection pages 

We have updated our 2 document collection pages for 16 to 19 and adult education and skills funding to include links to the most recent information and to improve the layout for users:

• 16 to 19 education and skills funding provides information for schools, colleges, local authorities and independent training providers about 16 to 19 funding arrangements

• adult education and skills funding provides information on adult education and skills funding allocations, funding rates, calculations and performance management

Information: Further education free meals rate 2025 to 2026

You will soon be receiving your 16 to 19 allocation statement for 2025 to 2026 academic year from the Department for Education (DfE), which will include a section for further education (FE) free meals. The funding rate for FE free meals will be confirmed later in the year. For now, the line in your statement for FE free meals will be shown as zero. 

Please be assured funding will be provided. DfE will be reissuing statements with confirmation of the allocation for FE free meals in due course.

Information: General annual grant (GAG) allocation statements for 2025 to 2026

We have started to issue pre-16 allocation statements for academies open prior to February 2025 and expect to issue them all by the end of March 2025.

Once your allocation statement is available, you will receive an email and can find your digital statement online at Manage your education and skills funding (MYESF). To receive the email notification and access your statement, you will need to have a DfE Sign-in account and add the MYESF service and the ‘view allocation statements’ sub-service to your account. If you have not already set this up, please see instructions on the academies revenue funding page.

Academy trusts users can view statements for all the academies in their trust by logging in to MYESF using their Trust UKPRN DfE sign-in account details. As we are releasing academy statements in batches, academy trusts should note that each of their academies’ statements may be added at different times.
