1. Information: academy general annual grant allocation guides 2019 to 2020
We have published the academy general annual grant allocation guides for the 2019 to 2020 academic year for mainstream academies, free schools, UTC’s and studio schools, special and alternative provision academies and special free schools.
We will begin issuing academy allocation statements for 2019 to 2020 towards the end of February.
We will upload allocation statements to the Document Exchange ‘revenue funding’ folder, under ‘AY 2019-20 (2019/20)’. You can access Document Exchange by logging into Information Exchange, and choosing the Document Exchange tab at the top of the page. For support and guidance about Information Exchange, please visit our support page.
We expect to upload all allocation statements for academies that opened before or on 1 January 2019 by the end of March 2019.
We will upload allocations for 2019 to 2020 for February and March 2019 opening academies by mid-April 2019.
2. Information: technical change to 16 to 19 maths and English condition of funding guidance
We have made a change to our 16 to 19 maths and English condition of funding guidance that will apply from academic year 2019 to 2020.
The change means that students with a grade 2 or below can study towards a pass in functional skills level 2 or they can still study towards a GCSE grade 9 to 4. Once they have achieved this, there is no requirement to undertake further maths or English qualifications to meet the condition of funding. Those with a grade 3 must still study GCSE only.
This adjustment allows providers and students with prior attainment of GCSE grade 2 and below, to choose which level 2 qualification is most appropriate.
Further information on 16 to 19 maths and English funding is available.
3. Information: compare and save on your schools energy bill with School Switch
School Switch is a free online price comparison and switching tool to help you compare energy prices and switch supplier to save money, like the comparison sites you may already be using for your home energy supply.
You do not have to be an expert in energy tariffs, and the simple price comparison tool removes the need for a broker and their associated fees. Prices are fixed allowing greater certainty with your budget planning and are generated simply by entering a few details about your current energy use.
