ESFA Update further education: 13 November 2019
Published 13 November 2019
Applies to England
1. Action: register for our webinars on how to support small and medium employers (SMEs) transition to the apprenticeship service
Last week we announced further details for SMEs (that don’t pay the apprenticeship levy) on accessing the apprenticeship service from 2020.
In order to support small and medium sized employers joining the apprenticeship service, we are hosting dedicated webinars for training providers. We will not be able to include policy information or provide a Q&A session due to pre-election restrictions.
Providers can register to join our webinars to hear about the arrangements in more detail, so they can support employers with the transition to the service. We are hosting sessions on:
- Tuesday 26 November
- Thursday 5 December
- Wednesday 11 December
- Wednesday 18 December
We will also announce further details of the transition via ESFA Update. You can sign up to receive alerts when Update is published.
2. Action: submit your college finance record for 2018 to 2019
We have now published the finance record for the 2018 to 2019 year.
All colleges are required to complete the finance record and submit this to ESFA by Tuesday 31 December 2019, together with their audited financial statements and other supporting documents in line with the requirements of the college accounts direction.
3. Reminder: subcontractor declaration for adult delivery, including apprenticeships and traineeships, and for the first time, for 16 to 19 provision
The deadline for submitting making subcontractor declarations to ESFA is close of business on Friday 15 November. We set out the detail of this in Update on 23 October 2019.
This is the:
- first ever collection for 16 to 19 provision and covers the period from August 2019 to July 2020
- second collection for levy and non-levy funded apprenticeship delivery for the year from April 2019 to March 2020
- first collection for all other adult delivery for the year from August 2019 to July 2020
Schools and academies are not required to complete this declaration for their 16 to 19 provision.
If you have any questions, please contact us via the ESFA online contact form.
