1. Latest information on coronavirus (COVID-19)
The Department for Education has published guidance about COVID-19 in educational settings for staff, parents and carers, pupils and students on GOV.UK.

2. Information: updated 2020 to 2021 dedicated schools grant allocations
We have updated the 2020 to 2021 dedicated schools grant (DSG) allocations to reflect latest academies recoupment data including academy conversions as at 1 October 2020.
We have also updated the high needs allocated place numbers for 2020 to 2021 to include recent in-year academy conversions.
We have updated the high needs allocated place numbers for 2019 to 2020 to show the final position at the end of the 2019 to 2020 academic year. We publish this information to encourage collaboration between local authorities and institutions.
3. Information: 16 to 19 funding regulations update for coronavirus (COVID-19) and impact on planned hours for 2020 to 2021
We have updated the 16 to 19 funding regulations for 2020 to 2021 with some additional advice to assist any funded institutions having difficulty in calculating planned hours as part of their early ILR returns for this year. The advice is also available in the ILR funding returns guidance 2020 to 2021. Any institution who has already resolved these issues for themselves does not need to amend any planned hours.
This new advice, together with the additional advice we have already given in Funding regulations Annex B on evidencing planned hours to funding auditors, may also help in planning hours for students in these current difficult circumstances and avoiding any funding audit issues later in the funding year.
4. Information: ‘Something’s Not Right’ campaign
The Home Office, in partnership with charities including Childline and Barnardo’s, launched a new four week campaign, ‘Something’s Not Right’, on 17 November for children and young people aged 13+ who have suffered harm, including sexual and physical abuse, during lockdown. The campaign aims to build awareness of the support services available to children and encourage disclosure of abuse to a trusted adult.
The campaign team would greatly appreciate governors and trustees’ encouragement to their schools to support the campaign, including delivering PSHE lesson plans on the subject. Further information is available via the campaign portal.
