ESFA Update academies: 20 October 2021
Published 20 October 2021
Applies to England
1. Information: guide to submitting your audited financial statements
We’ve published our guide to submitting your audited financial statements for 2020 to 2021. You should read the guide before completing the online form and uploading your documents.
You must upload your audited financial statements, auditor’s management letter and your internal scrutiny annual summary report within the accounts submission coversheet (ASC).
All academy trusts that had a signed funding agreement and had an open academy at any point during the accounting period to 31 August 2021, must submit audited accounts (annual report, financial statements, auditor’s management letter and internal scrutiny annual summary report) to ESFA. This includes free schools, studio schools and university technical colleges (UTCs). The deadline for submitting accounts is 31 December 2021.
Please do not use your DfE sign-in or IDAMS registration details to access the accounts submission coversheet online form. They will not work with this form.
If you have used this type of online form before (for example, the last time you submitted your ASC or the schools resource management self-assessment tool checklist), you can log in using the same details. You can also “sign up” to create a new password for the ASC.
2. Information: academies accounts return 2020/21 guidance and resources
