Information: National professional qualifications targeted support fund 2023 to 2024 allocations
The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has published the national professional qualification (NPQ) targeted support funding 2023 to 2024 grant allocations for participants who started in the 2023 to 2024 academic year.
Allocations will be paid to academies and maintained schools in June 2024. A further payment will be made to independent special schools from July 2024.
A sweep up payment will be made in autumn 2024, ensuring all eligible schools and organisations not captured in the summer payment window will be paid in-year. If you think you meet the eligibility criteria but have not yet received a payment as indicated on the published grant allocations, contact your training provider. They will be able to provide confirmation that training engagement was submitted to the department.

Eligibility is assessed using information provided during registration, including pupil data. For state-funded primary schools with 1 to 150 pupils and state-funded primary schools with more than 150 pupils, funding amounts may vary dependant on the point of registration.

Information: New version of academies chart of accounts published
ESFA has published the:
- new version of the academies chart of accounts (ACoA) for the financial year 2024 to 2025
- updated account code guidance
Updates can be found on the change control tabs of the spreadsheet, highlighted in yellow on the ACoA or within section 5 of the guide to adopting the academies chart of accounts.
We will be running technical update webinars in June to talk you through the updates to the ACoA 2024 to 2025 and the actions for trusts. The sessions are suitable for trusts who have already adopted the ACoA, trusts who are moving over to the ACoA and trust auditors.

Information: COVID-19 recovery premium grant 2023 to 2024 – June 2024 allocations
ESFA has published the June 2024 allocations for the recovery premium grant for the 2023 to 2024 academic year.
These are the final allocations and conclude the rollout of recovery premium for 2023 to 2024 academic year. This fourth instalment of the grant is paid to local authorities in June 2024 and will be paid to academies in July 2024.
Information: Pupil premium 2024 to 2025 – June 2024 allocations
ESFA has published the quarter 1 pupil premium allocations for financial year 2024 to 2025 on the pupil premium allocations guidance page.
The allocations include pupil referral units and alternative provision academies that completed the January 2024 census.
The school level pupil premium allocations published on GOV.UK are only the deprivation FSM6 element of the allocations. On the Get Information About Pupils (GIAP) site, schools can confirm the pupils included in the allocation and which element of funding they attract. You can access GIAP through DfE Sign-in.
