1. Reminder: the school led tutoring (SLT) statement is now live

The school-led tutoring (SLT) year-end statement form is live

The deadline for your submission is 6:00pm on Friday 16 September 2022.

This is a mandatory return. You need to complete this form if your institution has received school-led tutoring funding in the 2021 to2022 academic year, even if you have chosen not to use it.

If your institution has chosen not to use the school-led-tutoring grant, then the year-end statement is still mandatory, but it will be a shortened two-step process.

If your institution is not providing school-led tutoring in the summer holidays, we strongly recommend that you complete the year-end statement by 31 July.

The schools and academies form can be accessed online.

We have published technical guidance and policy guidance (which includes FAQs and scenarios). We have also published tutorial videos for schools and academies.

An optional tracker and calculator tool is available to help institutions complete the year-end statement, even if they have not been using it all year.

You can read more on the school-led tutoring grant on GOV.UK.

2. Information: induction for newly qualified teachers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

The previously published allocations for newly qualified teachers completing their induction in summer 2021 and spring 2022 have been updated.

The allocations have been updated to include schools located in the Early Career Framework early roll-out areas of the North East, Greater Manchester, Bradford and Doncaster, which did not take part in this programme but are eligible for the additional funding for newly qualified teachers who completed induction between summer 2021 and spring 2022.

We have identified an incorrect link to the on-line tool in the schools funding arrangements 2023 to 2024 article in last week’s ESFA Update. The correct link is school-level provisional allocations online tool.

We have also corrected the link on the published article from 20 July.
