Action: Academies national non-domestic rates – new claims for 2024 to 2025 by Friday 31 January 2025 

This message is for academies that are opted out of the current national non-domestic rates (NNDR) process. You can check the 2024 to 2025 NNDR process for your academy. 

Academies that remain under the old NNDR arrangements should submit new claims for 2024 to 2025 by Friday 31 January 2025. 

Claims can be submitted on the academies NNDR service. ESFA will not accept new claims after this deadline. 

Any 2024 to 2025 financial year adjustments submitted after the Friday 31 January 2025 deadline will be paid in the following claim year from June.

Action: Submit your school resource management self-assessment checklist 

The school resource management self-assessment checklist is now open for academy trusts to complete and return by Friday 14 March 2025. 

All academy trusts with an open academy on Tuesday 31 December 2024 must submit a checklist. 

Action: 2025 to 2026 academic year general annual grant allocations 

We will begin issuing 2025 to 2026 pre-16 general annual grant allocation statements towards the end of February 2025. We expect to issue all pre-16 allocation statements to academies that opened before or on Wednesday 1 January 2025 by the end of March 2025. 

We will issue allocations for 2025 to 2026 for February and March 2025 opening academies by the end of April 2025. 

We will publish pre-16 general annual grant allocations guidance in February 2025 before we start to issue the allocation statements. 

As mentioned in the 23 October 2024 ESFA Update, we will now be issuing a digital statement online at manage your education and skills funding (MYESF). To access your statement, you will need to have a DfE Sign-in account and add the MYESF service and the ‘view allocation statements’ sub-service to your account.
