1. Action: the coronavirus (COVID-19) workforce fund claim form is now open
The COVID-19 workforce fund claim form is now open.
Eligible schools and colleges can now submit a claim for the cost of absences over a threshold experienced between Monday 22 November 2021 to Friday 8 April 2022.
We have published guidance on how to complete the claim form.
The deadline for submitting a claim is 11:59pm on Tuesday, 24 May.

2. Information: academies chart of accounts updated
The Department for Education has updated the academies chart of accounts for use in 2022/23. This incorporates a small number of necessary changes to the previous update.
Academy trusts that have adopted the chart of accounts should update their own chart of accounts with effect from 1 September 2022 to reflect the changes which can be found in section 4 of the guidance.
Other trusts should work with their financial management software (FMS) suppliers to adopt the chart of accounts. Adopting the chart of accounts will potentially benefit from future automated data transfer tools for financial returns.
3. Information: PE and sport premium updated allocations
We have now published the updated allocations for PE and sport premium 2021 to 2022 for the period April 2022 to August 2022.
4. Information: teachers’ pension employer contribution grant (TPECG) and teachers’ pay grant (TPG) allocations
We have published the TPECG allocations and conditions of grant for financial year 2022 to 2023, for those institutions that continue to receive this as a separate grant.

This is the first instalment of these grants which covers April 2022 to August 2022.
The grants are based on the published per pupil rates set out in the updated TPG and TPECG methodology.
5. Information: coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery premium funding grant allocation for April 2022 now available
The recovery premium grant is additional funding to support schools with education recovery during the 2021 to 2022 academic year, following the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We have now published the allocations for the period April 2022 to August 2022 and these are available on GOV.UK.

8. Information: wellbeing support for school leaders
School leaders can access free wellbeing support through the charity Education Support. The Department for Education (DfE) funded scheme provides free one-to-one counselling, one-to-one supervision, and peer support to school leaders, helping those at deputy head level and above with their wellbeing.

9. Information: teacher misconduct - regulating the teaching profession
Following the consultation in Spring 2022, we have carefully considered all responses received and addressed them in the government response to the consultation which has now been published on GOV.UK. We intend to take all the proposals forward when the next legislative opportunity arises.
