This guide is for all stakeholders in estate regeneration schemes – landowners, residents, local authority officers and members, consultants, developers, public service providers, businesses and charities. It should be read in conjunction with the other components of the Estate Regeneration National Strategy, including guidance on resident engagement and protection and finance and delivery.
The guide sets out the principal activities, considerations, key participants and source material for typical regeneration projects, at the preparation, planning or delivery stages of projects. It is intended as a general good practice guidance for all stakeholders to consider in relation to the characteristics and challenges of each individual scheme.
Two additional documents complete the good practice guide: an activity map that sets out the path of a model estate regeneration scheme, and a design and quality checklist that provides additional considerations related to the design and masterplanning of schemes.
