Details

The Government have informed us that, given the tight turnaround time to introduce and pass the European Union (Future Relationship) Bill after the negotiations over the UK’s future relationship with the EU had been agreed on 24 December, it was not feasible to produce an impact assessment (IAs) to accompany the Bill. We have not therefore seen an assessment of the impacts of the Bill on which we could offer an opinion.

We accept that this is an exceptional situation and are pleased that the Government have committed to the production of IAs in the normal way for any secondary legislation that follows.
