Evaluation of Health Partnership Scheme

Theory based evaluation carried out between April and September 2016, of the £30.2m Health Partnership Scheme which started in June 2011 and is due to end in June 2017.

The evaluation findings are based on data from 6 different sources:

  • four country case studies: five remote project case studies
  • portfolio desk review of 37 maternal new born and child health projects (to assess effectiveness and impact only)
  • a review of recent health partnership and volunteering research literature
  • a survey of volunteers
  • a survey of UK and southern partners

In total 350 in-depth interviews were conducted.
