To ensure it makes effective management decisions, the MMO must maintain a level of technical capability internally, alongside a clear strategic approach to ensuring any evidence needs are met both now and in the future. This is complemented by our evidence collaborations and partnerships with Defra, government and non-government organisations, academics and industry.
The Evidence Strategy 2020 -2025 now supersedes the Evidence Strategy 2015-2020
This document sets out the MMO’s Evidence Strategy for 2021 to 2025, including:
- Adapting our strategy to new drivers of evidence and analysis at the MMO
- Evidence to evaluate effectiveness
- MMO’s Evidence Programme 2021-2025
The MMO will use this Evidence Strategy as a framework for internal evidence prioritisation and effective contribution to the development of Defra network evidence needs as well as an external guide to stakeholders interested in the sustainable management of England’s marine area.
