Details

An executive head is a headteacher who is responsible for more than one school. They provide support and leadership to all schools within their trust, federation or partnership. The purposes and accountabilities associated with being an executive head continue to develop and expand.

This study covers:

  • the role and responsibility of executive heads
  • how school context and other factors impact on the role
  • how the role might develop in the context of the government’s policies for schools
