Expressions of interest: Scoping Reviews Lot 1 and Lot 2

The Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) is seeking expressions of interest from organisations who would like to take part in a tender opportunity for 2 scoping reviews.

LOT number Project Description
LOT 1 Scoping review into a potential link between cognitive impairment and professional sportspeople. The objective of this review is to quantify the risks of cognitive dysfunction and dementia amongst professional sports people, and identify potential exposures associated with any increased risk.
LOT 2 Scoping review into a potential link between Parkinson’s disease and professional sportspeople.  The objective of this review is to quantify the risks of Parkinson’s disease amongst professional sports people and identify potential exposures associated with any increased risk.

Please state which LOT you are interested in and provide brief details of your organisation including details of your expertise relevant to the LOTs.

Closing date for replies is 11.59pm on 26 February 2025.

About IIAC

The (IIAC) provides advice to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland on matters relating to the industrial injuries scheme. In particular, it gives advice on which diseases, and the jobs that cause them, should be included in the scheme.

The council is formed of medical, scientific and legal experts, and representatives of employers and employed earners.

The council does not represent the Department for Work and Pensions and has no involvement in individual claims or decisions.
