Overview
The Family Hubs – Growing Up Well project is part of the government’s work to champion family hubs.
The Department for Education will partner with 5 local authorities in total on this project. Bristol City Council and Lancashire County Council were recruited in round 1. This round is to recruit the remaining 3 local authorities.
Local authority partners will receive funding to take part. A total of up to £1.7 million over financial years 2021 to 2022, 2022 to 2023 and 2023 to 2024 will be distributed between all 5 local authorities.
The project aims to develop digital and data products that will support the practical implementation of family hubs by:
- improving how professionals collaborate and plan for families, with a particular focus on information sharing
- improving the ‘user experience’ for vulnerable and disadvantaged families who need to access and navigate services
- finding solutions to address problems in the participating local authorities, which have potential to be replicated elsewhere
