This document sets out progress made since December 2011 on the Government’s plan for reducing the burden of paperwork on farmers and food processors.

Details

This document was published in response to a recommendation from the independent Farming Regulation Task Force.

This includes:

  • Reviewing and updating the principles and templates we use for producing guidance on regulations in Defra;
  • Setting up an Industry/Government Group on Digital by Default which will meet for the second time in July;
  • Piloting the electronic publication of Cross-Compliance Guidance, and;
  • Increasing the number of electronic SPS applications by 11,000, taking the total number of such applications to 42,000.
