In line with our commitment to transparency, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) publishes an inventory of its paper archive records.
This inventory supersedes the archive inventory of the former Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It now includes archive records previously managed by the former Department for International Development (DFID).
The FCDO inventory covers:

all paper archive records managed centrally by the FCDO’s archive management teams and held in central departmental or commercial archive repositories

paper archive records created before 2003 and held outside the FCDO’s central archive repositories in FCDO UK departments and at overseas posts. This part of the inventory currently includes the former FCO’s records. Former DFID records will be added in due course.
Rows 1 to 4050 of the inventory (inventory IDs down to 9311) cover records previously held and managed by the former FCO.
Rows 4051 to 4566 of the inventory (inventory IDs from 9313 onwards) cover records previously held and managed by the former DFID.
