The FCERM appraisal guidance was originally introduced in 2010. This updated technical guidance was released in 2022.
It explains how:
- to complete an appraisal for an FCERM strategy or project in England
- you can use this information to create a business case to support an application for FCERM funding in line with government policy
You should use this technical guidance if you are an FCERM practitioner who:
- needs the specific techniques and approaches to carry out an appraisal
- writes an FCERM business case
If you want to understand FCERM appraisal at a higher level you should read the appraisal manual. This provides an overview of the main steps involved in carrying out an appraisal.
