Details

This research details the findings of a survey of fire risk assessors (FRA) in England, primarily aimed to better understand their competence and capacity. The survey was conducted by the Home Office in 2023, with a total of 1,272 fire risk assessors responding.

This survey was conducted to better understand FRAs, including how they complete their role and the sectors within which they operate. The survey also explored the skills, knowledge, experience, behaviours, qualifications and memberships that are held by FRAs to help inform how competent they may be at conducting assessments. Additionally, the capacity of FRAs was explored by understanding the buildings they assess.
