Details

The main objective of this project was to examine whether the current importation of live American lobsters (Homarus americanus) into the UK could cause disease outbreaks in native European lobsters (Homarus gammarus).

The research was carried out from 1 May 2011 to January 2012 by the Department of Biosciences, College of Science, Swansea University, Shellfish Association of Great Britain, and New England Aquarium. Objective 1 was carried out throughout the UK and objective 2 in New England Aquarium, Boston.
