We (the Environment Agency) are the data controller for this service.
Personal data we may collect includes your name, email address, employer (or institution), conference attendance or publications, dissemination activities, online content, organisations you work with and photographs (with explicit permission where individuals are identifiable).
The lawful basis for processing your personal data is to perform a task in the public interest that is set out in law.
We are collecting personal information to use within the Centre for Doctoral Training for Resilient Flood Futures (Flood-CDT) programme and may contact you about your work or studies. This includes student placements and recording the benefits of activities undertaken.
We may share your data with other organisations within Flood-CDT. These may include other members of the Joint FCRM R&D Programme (Natural Resources Wales, Welsh Government, Defra), together with our counterparts in Department of Infrastructure, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. The universities and research centres involved in Flood-CDT are the universities of Bristol, Loughborough, Newcastle and Southampton, plus the British Geological Survey, National Oceanography Centre and the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. Other partners are listed on the Flood-CDT website.
We will not share your details with any other third party outside of the Flood-CDT programme without your explicit consent unless required to by law.
If we contact you about work in an area of research interest this agreement remains in place. We will form a new legal relationship with you relating to your personal data for that activity.
The data held by the Environment Agency will be processed and stored inside the European Economic Area.
We will keep your information in our database the duration of your PhD up to a maximum period of three years after Flood-CDT completes.
