This document explains the Environment Agency’s approach to the management of flood and coastal risk assets, that reduce the risk of flooding either from the sea or from main river.

It includes those assets that the Environment Agency directly maintain and covers the approach to those managed by local councils, Internal Drainage Boards, individuals and businesses.
