This guide has been updated to reflect the changes to the regulations on the flying of flags which came into effect in June 2021. These changes include: to allow double flagging, (the flying of two flags from the same flagstaff) of national and county flags; to add flags of the NHS to the category of flags with deemed consent; to remove the current reference to the flag of the European Union as a flag for which consent is not required following the UK’s departure from the EU.
