FOI ref 0168-14 gives a link to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (VCDR) 1961 and explains how diplomatic immunity is applied to UK-based staff in approved diplomatic positions in India and to Indian nationals employed locally in India, including staff members in India involved in all pending criminal legal proceedings in India
