FOI ref 0759-14 requests notes, agendas and minutes in relation to meetings between the UK ambassador to the US and seven US senators. All information has been withheld under section 23 (security bodies), section 27(1) (international relations), section 35(1) (formulation of government policy), section 36(2)(b)(i), (ii) and (c) (effective conduct of public affairs), section 40(2) (personal information) and section 43 (commercial interests). The response also confirms that the UK government did not lobby the US, at any level, to have information removed or redacted in relation to alleged UK involvement in rendition or mistreatment of detainees. It confirms that none of the withheld material provides evidence of UK involvement in detainee mistreatment
