Details

This Forestry Commission Wildfire statistics for England: Report to 2020-21 provides the results of analyses of all wildfire incidents attended by the Fire and Rescue Services in England over the twelve years 2009-10 to 2020-21. This report updates and replaces our previous report on this topic.

The report provides the number of wildfires in total and disaggregates this total into a range of relevant typologies such as land area burnt and the durations and locations of the incidents across England. It includes statistics for a range of sub-national geographies and summaries about wildfires in environmentally designated areas such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest and National Parks. In particular, the report includes findings on the coincidence of wildfires within woodland, built-up areas and gardens and the other main land cover types across England.
