Details

The project has delivered a model framework entitled HELGA (Health and Environmental risks form Landfill GAs), to help the Environment Agency assess the risks to human health and the environment from landfill gas (LFG). HELGA is a demonstration framework to test the feasibility of a fully developed model. When developed to commercial standards, the code is expected to be complementary to LANDSIM, the Environment Agency’s risk assessment model for leachate migration into groundwater.
