Freedom of Information request about Hepatitis B infection (FOI 21/291)

Thank you for your email dated 15 March 2021 regarding your late fathers treatment, explained below.
Thank you for your information request where you asked for information regarding ‘to ascertain if my late father’s Hepatitis B infection was due to receiving blood products in April 2007 that may have been infected with Hepatitis B’.
I can confirm that we do not hold any information regarding Serious Adverse Reactions pertaining to your fathers case in our SABRE database
You may wish to contact Homerton University hospital again requesting that the Pathology Blood Transfusion Department, through the channel that you made your original request, to investigate if they have a record of the disease screening performed by NHSBT on the individual units that were transfused. As you correctly state in your E Mail below these records must be retained for a minimum of 30 years as per the regulations that you have cited.
