This report is for anyone with an interest in honey authenticity testing methods.

The AMWG technical subgroup was asked to provide its expert opinion on the European Commission’s ‘From the Hives’ honey survey, including:

  • the overall approach taken
  • the suitability of the methods used
  • how honey testing approaches could be strengthened in the future

The expert committee’s views were used to inform follow-up for the UK honey samples taken as part of the survey and the government’s formal response to the European Commission.
