Details
EDF Energy is funding an Innovation Challenge to stimulate new inspection and monitoring systems. EDF Energy and Innovate UK are working in partnership to run this competition.
The aim of this competition is to identify new and innovative ways to inspect and monitor EDF Energy’s power generation assets. These solutions must be safe, fast, cost effective and accurate.
The competition has 2 themes. EDF Energy has based these themes on existing challenges within its nuclear fleet and EDF Energy Renewables’ offshore wind farms. EDF Energy is seeking proposals for feasibility studies that address these challenges.
The competition is open to businesses of any size, from start-ups to large companies. If you are a business, you can work alone. You can also work with academic partners but a business must lead your project. We particularly welcome innovators from outside the energy sector.
We will consider early stage and well-developed ideas. We will select projects based on how innovative they are and how much value they create. We expect projects to last up to 3 months, with £5,000 to £10,000 for each project.
The competition opens on Monday 18 July 2016
You must apply before noon on Wednesday 28 September 2016
Attend the briefing event for potential applicants in Gloucester on Thursday 8 September 2016. You can also attend this event via webinar.
