Funding for search and rescue volunteer training

Details

On 7 April 2014 the Prime Minister announced that £4 million would be made available to subsidise training costs for search and rescue (SAR) volunteers in the UK. The Cabinet Office has been working with UK SAR umbrella bodies, statutory agencies and the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to establish the processes and governance for the funding.

The first grant funding round opened on the 22 December 2014. Fourteen organisations are receiving funding through this initial round.
