G7 foreign ministers' meeting in Germany, 2022: communiqué

Foreign Ministers from the G7 countries released a joint communiqué following their meeting in Germany.

Details

The G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and the High Representative of the European Union met in Germany.

Following their meeting, their joint statement condemns, in the strongest possible terms, Russia’s unjustifiable, unprovoked and illegal war of aggression against Ukraine.

The joint statement also covers other areas of foreign and security policy, as well as prevention and transformation in:

  • tackling the global climate and biodiversity crises and promoting a sustainable and just energy transition
  • addressing the challenges of the pandemic
  • making democracies more resilient
