In this statement, the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group recognised significant challenges to global security. These include chemical weapons use, evolving biological threats, illicit trafficking of conventional weapons and irresponsible language about nuclear weapons.

Despite these challenges, the G7 remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining peace and security by upholding international arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation efforts.

This statement was endorsed by G7 foreign ministers in the 2024 G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting communiqués.
