General Lighthouse Fund accounts consolidate the General Lighthouse Authorities’ accounts. These accounts are maintained by the Department for Transport. The GLAs comprise:

• Trinity House in its capacity as a lighthouse service
• Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses (known as Northern Lighthouse Board)
• Commissioners of Irish Lights

The report and accounts of the General Lighthouse Fund are prepared pursuant to Section 211(5) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the 2015 to 2016 Government financial reporting manual (FReM) issued by HM Treasury. The accounting policies contained in the FReM follow international financial reporting standards to the extent that it is meaningful and appropriate to the public sector.

General Lighthouse Fund accounts have been produced since 2002. Previous versions of the annual reports are available.
