The General Trade Licence for sanctioned Russian synthetic diamonds processed in third countries permits the import into the UK of certain prohibited goods that:
- were outside of Russia on 24 April 2025 and are larger or equal to 0.5 carats in weight and have remained outside of Russia since that date
Alongside the import of these goods, the licence permits the provision of certain services and actions related to their import. It may also be used in cases where a trader is unaware of a good’s origin, such that their goods are potentially prohibited. The licence has a record-keeping requirement with the category above being subject to further conditions.
