Details

To get a copy of a letter from an organisation confirming provision of domestic violence support services, you should:

  • ask the domestic violence support service to complete the form as much as possible

You can use this as evidence if you’re applying for legal aid to help you divorce or separate from an abusive partner.

If you’re part of an organisation providing domestic violence support services, you can adapt this sample letter to confirm:

  • your organisation is situated in England and Wales
  • your organisation has been in operation for six months or more
  • the applicant is a victim of domestic violence
  • the support you have provided to the applicant

You need to give this evidence when victims of domestic violence apply for legal aid.
