Variations to the get funding to improve animal health and welfare agreement terms and conditions

The stage 1 terms and conditions for Get funding to improve animal health and welfare have been updated and are effective from 21 January 2025.

Read the following sections for a summary of each change and which paragraphs have been updated.

Expressions used have the same meaning as set out in the Agreement, unless defined.

Follow-ups for dairy cattle

We now allow farmers to have a Follow-up for a single herd of dairy cattle if:

  • their Single Species is dairy cattle 
  • they have at least 11 dairy cattle

The following paragraphs have been amended in the terms and conditions due to this change:

  • 1.2 (b) updated
  • 1.2 (d) deleted
  • 15.5 second sentence deleted
  • 15.10 updated
  • 16.2 updated

Persistently infected (PI) hunt for beef or dairy cattle follow-ups

We now allow farmers to have a persistently infected (PI) hunt for either beef or dairy cattle Follow-ups, even if the Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) result was negative. This must be recommended by the Vet.

Paragraph 16.4.1 has been updated in the terms and conditions due to this change.

Follow up summary sheet: additional information required

We now require farmers to ask their Vets to include additional information in their Follow-up Summary Sheet about:

  • dairy cattle
  • PI hunt testing, if relevant

The following paragraphs have been amended in the terms and conditions due to this change:

  • 17.1 (g) updated

Payment rates added for dairy cattle Follow Ups and PI hunt testing 

We have added additional payment rates for dairy cattle Follow-ups and Vet recommended PI hunt testing
