The House of Commons Home Affairs Committee sub-committee on counter-terrorism published the report of its inquiry ‘CONTEST: government’s counter-terrorism strategy’ on 7 July 2009.

The inquiry focused in particular on:

  • the UK’s overall approach to counter-terrorism, the machinery of government and the CONTEST strategy itself
  • transport infrastructure
  • the 2012 Olympics

This command paper sets out the government response to the conclusions and recommendations in the committee’s report.
