In January 2024 the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) published its Progress in improving the natural environment in England report.

The government is required to respond to the report. This is part of its duties to monitor and report on environmental improvement plans and targets.

The OEP report contains recommendations for how progress could be improved. We have set out our response to address each recommendation.
