Green Gas Levy (GGL): rates, underlying variables, mutualisation threshold for the 2023-2024 financial year

BEIS has a regulatory duty under Regulation 39(2) of the Green Gas Support Scheme Regulations 2021 to publish the Green Gas Levy (GGL) rate for each scheme year (beginning 1 April) by 31 December of the preceding year.
GGL levy rates
The GGL levy rate for the 2023-2024 scheme year (1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024):
- 0.122p per meter per day, equivalent to 45p per meter over the period

**Note that Ofgem’s administration costs for carrying out the mutualisation process is the same value as the mutualisation threshold.

The mutualisation threshold is any levy shortfall above £12,500.
