The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) Secretary of State has commissioned an independent review of greenhouse gas removals (GGRs), to consider how options for GGRs, including large-scale power bio-energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) and direct air carbon capture and storage (DACCS), can assist the UK in meeting our net zero targets, out to 2050.
The DESNZ Secretary of State has appointed Dr Alan Whitehead CBE as review Chair with overall responsibility for the review and its outputs.
