Greenwheel Nether Lock Hydro Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0068/001 which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Trent (Newark Branch) at Nether Lock Weir, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire at National Grid Reference SK 80087 55288.
The variation applied for is to increase the maximum turbine capacity from 5,000 litres per second to 9,000 litres per second.
