The G7++ Group of Friends of the Gulf of Guinea (FOGG) is a multilateral maritime security group that supports the implementation of the Yaoundé Code of Conduct for regional maritime security.

As a founder member of the FOGG, the UK is committed to supporting regionally-led solutions to maritime security in West Africa. The UK and Senegal co-chaired the G7++ Friends of the Gulf of Guinea during 2021.

The G7++ FOGG plenary session was held in Dakar between 24 to 26 November 2021. UK Minister for Africa Vicky Ford and Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Aïssata Tall Sall hosted discussions with G7 representatives, and regional, industry and civil society delegations to improve the coordination and strengthen maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.
